Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan Abilities are one of the great mysteries that have yet to be solved in the Boruto manga. This is even more so since she already awakened her MS at a very young age. This was also not done by hate or grief like all the other Sharingan users, but by the love she felt for Boruto. In this troubling times as the time skip is already on, what will Masashi Kishimoto designate as Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan Abilities, and will it help her in her quest to help Boruto.
Every Mangekyo Sharingan Ability is unique to the user after awakening, but this has a clear staging to it. There are two types of Mangekyo Sharingan Abilities that one can get, that is a Physical type ability or a Genjutsu type ability. One may get both abilities in different eyes, or get one ability in both eyes. This varying is what made the Sharingan a very interesting dojutsu in the Naruto franchise.
Sarada comes from a line of very powerful Sharingan users. We know that her granddaughter Fugaku Uchiha, had also awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan even though the abilities were never revealed. Her uncle Itachi Uchiha on the other hand was a protégé, having two separate abilities tied to his Mangekyo Sharingan. The Tsukuyomi, one of the most powerful Genjutsu abilities in Naruto and not forgetting the Amaterasu, black flames that cannot be put out by normal means. The Amaterasu was passed down to Sasuke as one of his abilities except for the Tsukuyomi. Instead, Sasuke got an ability called Kagatsuchi( Flame Control), which allows him to control the Amaterasu with precise control making it ever more deadly. But how does this tie on to Sarada.
Considering the situation surrounding Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and how Eida’s Omnipotence is playing a major role in how characters interact with him, we can safely say that Sarada will receive a Genjutsu type ability for countering this phenomenon. This may have been foreshadowed by Sarada not being affected by Omnipotence. We still don’t know why this is the case, but it can be easily tied to her MS, since it would make more sense that way. Her other ability may be Amaterasu since it will continue the tradition but, there is one problem with that. As shown in the fight with Jigen, the Amaterasu is useless against anyone who can absorb chakra. The Shinju are still evolving, so we can assume that they will get this ability in the near future.
Sarada can still get a flame based ability, only that it’s way more potent than the Amaterasu. Say she gets an Existence Erasure level of flame prowess, that would level the playing field at least to give her a chance in the soon coming battle. On top of this, Sarada will also have the opportunity to awaken her Susanoo, even though it won’t help that much. As seen in the Jigen fight, the Susanoo’s perfect defense can be easily passed with overbearing physical prowess. She would need to have an out haxed Susanoo like that of Itachi. The Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror made Itachi a force to be reckoned with when he used his Susanoo. Maybe they will be passed to Sarada’s Susanoo, since the abilities would be quite useful against the Shinju. Having a sealing jutsu and a perfect reflecting ability would come in handy. Kishimoto and Ikiemoto will have to rack their brains for this.
I have a feeling we will be seeing a tease of her Mangekyo Sharingan Abilities in the following chapters, considering what is happening with Ryo over in the Sand Village. Either that, or Boruto will jump in to save the day. Will Sarada close the massive gap in power that separates her from the top tiers, or will she get a lackluster set of abilities. All we can do is wait….also will she get a set of Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and how will she do it, considering her father is in a tree right now. They’re lots to explore in this matter so be sure to stick around….more lore will be coming.
