Fans of the Boruto manga have been desperately awaiting the moment Sarada, will use her Mangekyo Sharingan Abilities. It has been a good 19 chapters since Sarada awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan. It was the first time someone awakened a Mangekyo Sharingan without despair washing over them. This was foreshadowed a while back when Sarada also awakened her Sharingan without experiencing a traumatizing moment in her life. In both instances, Sarada awakened her Sharingan with love and concern for her beloveds, that is Boruto and Sasuke. But why hasn’t she used her Mangekyo Sharingan Abilities ever since the time skip arrived.
During the Omnipotence incident, Sarada awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan while trying to convince Sasuke to help Boruto. This came as a shock to Sasuke who trusted her daughter, confirming that he will help Boruto despite the Omnipotence clouding his judgement. The shape of Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan was also unique looking like a Sun, obviously contrasting Eida’s Moon shaped Senrigan( this will most probably become a plot point later in the manga).This exited fans at the time not knowing the eye will not make an appearance for a while. It isn’t that Sarada is not using her Mangekyo Sharingan abilities and rather that she can’t use them.
Sarada did not awaken her Mangekyo Sharingan on will, rather it just happened. The situation was so desperate that her chakra, responsible for the Sharingan awakening that is located in the eye sockets, just went into overdrive. She probably doesn’t even know that she awakened it. The only person that saw her awakening it was Sasuke, and he left the village with Boruto, only to be turned into a tree two years later. This does not help since Sasuke is also the only person on the planet that is an Uchiha, the perfect teacher, and he is wasn’t there to support Sarada. You may say that Kakashi and Orochimaru are still in Konoha but that can’t be confirmed. For all we know, Sarada has been alone in the struggle to understand her Sharingan abilities.
Will Sarada awaken her Mangekyo Sharingan by accident in the following chapters? the answer is probably yes since that is how she will discover her heritage. Someone will 100% notice the change to her eye and maybe, she will use her abilities on accident. For what her abilities will be, we can probably guess that she will have a Genjutsu type ability, maybe to counter Eida’s Omnipotence and maybe the Amaterasu, as a keepsake from her father. We can’t fully say that we will see this happen anytime soon since Boruto: Two Blue Vortex being a monthly manga doesn’t help, but faith will be had. When it is revealed what her abilities will be, the internet will go on a frenzy….not including how Sarada will conquer her Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan problem.
